I began selling Sports on eBay in 1999, progressively more serious until by 2001 it was a full blown endeavor. In the beginning it was all by hand, then little by little eBay got its act together, and I started making databases and tools to list the cards.
Fast forward to 2007 when we purchased the right to use Beckett Pricing data. Development of the software surged forward. In 2008 we started offering our software to other people through our hosting company GLE Tech.
In 2012 we added a storefront to the software. We use the OS Commerce Online Store setup, which we were able to customize for sports cards selling. OS Commerce is a module based system where you can add different features. We have customized a version of OS Commerce to include SEO (search engine) optimization, discounts, multiple payment and shipping options, as well as many others.
All the pieces of this system have now come together. We have a manager that lists sports cards in several ways, individually and in bulk. We can sell those listings on our own websites, or on eBay, or both. We can track all those wonderful sales in one place, print invoices, send shipped notices, notify eBay of tracking numbers, leave feedback for eBay sales. All without ever loading one eBay page.
The sports card listing tools in our software have always been focused on being quick and easy to use and having all the tools you need to sell online in one place. It's about automating mundane tasks and getting more done in less time.
The online store is focused on being easy to load and easy for the customers to buy things. And this is key, because we do not charge you any fees for sales. eBay is the master of charging fees.
The bottom line is that our e-Merchant Online Store and Manager give you the tools to run your online card selling business. It gives you the tools to grow that business. It's up to you to take advantage of it, because we all kow you get out of something when you put something into it.
